I bet you know someone who’s been affected by Alzheimer’s. Most of us do. I learned today that every 71 seconds, someone is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. It’s the 6th leading cause of death in the United States.

When I learned about the walk I got the idea form a team representing the theater community here in Denver, so I’m starting on that this week. And really, how hard could it be? It’s a 2-3 mile walk on a Saturday morning in the fall. This isn’t a marathon we’re talking about. But consider the marathon that those battling Alzheimer’s and their families are facing today. We can all do something to help. here’s my team page: Theatre Colorado Team.

Join the Colorado Theatre Guild - whether you are a patron, actor, director, theater company, CTG has something for you!

To get "in the know", check out this list of Yahoo Groups and submit your email address to these groups so you can get up to date information on local theatre happenings. These are the Colorado groups we are aware of.  Please email us if you know of a group we should list.

Then GO SEE SHOWS! The best way to support local theatre is to go see the shows. Give tickets and season subscriptions as gifts. Tell your friends when you see a great show.

GET INVOLVED! Local theatres are looking for people to audition, tech, volunteer etc. Click here for a list of local theatre companies large and small. There is something for everyone!
