Why can’t some men remain faithful? Ed loves Donna. His penis doesn’t and makes him cheat on her with her cousin Linda (at the family holiday party, no less). This hysterical comedy looks at love and relationships from the perspective of Ed’s favorite body part. Who is really in control? Ed, or his penis? Warning: adult themes and language. Only 6 performances! Seating limited, reservations recommended.

The Aurora Fox Presents XANADU – the hit musical comedy

The Aurora Fox will present the Regional Premiere of XANADU – the hit musical comedy (directed by Ben Dicke, with Music Direction by David Nehls, choreography by Piper Arpan) from March 2 through April 1, 2012 at the Aurora Fox (9900 East Colfax, Aurora, CO 80010).

Amy Board and Andrew Diessner in Xanadu

Amy Board and Andrew Diessner in Xanadu

Believe in the magic again! Xanadu follows the journey of a magical and beautiful Greek muse, Kira (Amy Board), who descends from the heavens of Mt. Olympus to Venice Beach, California in 1980 on a quest to inspire a struggling artist, Sonny (Andrew Diessner), to achieve the greatest artistic creation of all time – the first ROLLER DISCO…hey, it’s 1980! But, when Kira falls into forbidden love with the mortal Sonny, her jealous sisters take advantage of the situation and chaos abounds.

In 2007, this quirky musical which pokes gentle fun at the cult movie, took New York by storm, earning 4 Tony nominations including “Best Musical”. In addition to songs performed in the 1980 movie by Olivia Newton-John (“Magic,” the romantic title track), the musical includes classic tunes by the production’s songwriter, Jeff Lynne, and Electric Light Orchestra, most notably a wacky version of “Strange Magic” and a funky take on “All Over the World.”

Limited onstage couch seating is available for every performance. Those seats must be reserved by telephone: 303-739-1970.

Xanadu is directed by Ben Dicke with Equity Stage Manager Lindsay Sullivan, Production Management by Jen Orf, Lighting Design by Shannon McKinney, Costumes by Nicole Harrison, Sound Design by El Armstrong and Props by Becky Toma.

Town Hall Arts Center Presents Brigadoon

This heartwarming musical is directed by Christopher Willard, with musical direction by Mary Dailey, tracks by Donna Debreceni and choreography by Kelly Kates.

Featuring Town Hall favorite David Ambroson as Tommy, David Novinger plays Jeff, and Alison Mueller as Fiona. This Scottish fantasy is about a mysterious village that disappears into the Highland mist and returns for only one day every one hundred years. To the villagers, the magical passing of each century seems no longer than one night. This tribute to simplicity, true love and goodness, has been revived on Broadway several times and has earned both a Tony Award and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award.

Town Hall’s production opens February 17, 2012 and runs through March 18, 2012. Show times are Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays at 7:30 p.m.; Sundays at 2 p.m. & 6:30 (3/11).

The Aurora Fox Extends CRUMBS FROM THE TABLE OF JOY

Additional show dates are February 24 and 25 at 7:30pm and February 26 at 2:00pm. All other show dates except February 17 and 18 are sold out. Crumbs from the Table of Joy is being performed in the Aurora Fox Studio Theatre (9900 East Colfax, Aurora, CO 80010).

Told through the eyes of 17-year-old Ernestine, this is a memory play about an African-American family from the Deep South that has moved to bustling Brooklyn in 1950 and is forced to face significant changes in their lifestyle – a very progressive aunt, a new stepmother who happens to be white AND German, a new culture, new friends, new expectations, their religious views, their social views and the changes that come simply with growing up.

Written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage (author of Ruined and Intimate Apparel), CRUMBS is a lyrical, funny and compassionate gem that charms the heart with its delightful, unforgettable characters and its message of tolerance, love and the quest for self-discovery.
