Durango High School in Southwest Colorado is seeking an experienced, creative Drama Teacher and Theater Director to continue the outstanding level of excellence in our theater program. o Professional Colorado teaching license in drama. Multiple certifications in fine arts preferred
o Successful experience in teaching and leading acting, stage, and technical aspects of theater productions, including musicals, drama, comedy, and children’s theater.
o Willingness to work with students after school, evenings, weekends, and/or school vacations
o Desire to travel to theater competitions and special events
o Highly organized with ability to plan for and meet deadlines; attention to detail; self-directed
o Excellent communication and collaborative skills to work with staff, community and post-secondary partners, parents, and theater organizations
o Experience with community patronage and donor outreach

This position is part of our School of Creative, Innovative, and Artistic Learning (SOCIAL), where teachers work collaboratively to provide interdisciplinary experiences for students based on attributes of artistic thinking.
