In an effort to further key Business and Arts partnerships paramount to keeping the arts accessible to all members of the community, Stapleton MCA and The Aurora Fox will present the Regional Premiere of Happy Days – A New Musical by Garry Marshall September 18th and 25th at 6:00pm and 19th and 26th at 4:00pm as part of Stapleton’s new Theatre on the Green series on the lawn at Founder’s Green.

Goodbye gray skies, hello blue! Happy days are here again with Richie, Potsie, Ralph Malph and the unforgettable “king of cool” Arthur “The Fonz” Fonzarelli. Based on the hit Paramount Pictures’ television series, Happy Days – A New Musical reintroduces one of America’s best loved families, the Cunninghams, and the days of 1959 Milwaukee complete with varsity sweaters, hula hoops, motorcycles and jukebox sock-hoppin’.

The famed drive-in malt shop and number one hang-out, Arnold’s (complete with its signature spinning “A” on the roof), is in danger of demolition, so the gang teams up to save it with a dance contest and a tv-worthy wrestling match featuring none other than Fonzie, himself. This perfectly family-friendly musical will have the audience rockin’ and rollin’ all week long!

Admission is FREE to the general public. So end your summer with a be-boppin’ bang! Pack a picnic, grab the kids and a blanket and head on over to Stapleton’s outdoor theatre for a fun ride back to the good ol’ days. Located at 29th and Quebec on the Green. No reservations necessary.

Happy Days – A New Family Musical is directed by Pam Clifton with Scenic Design by Charles Dean Packard, Lighting by Jen Orf, Costumes by Erin Leonard, Properties by Lindsay Sullivan, and Stage Management by Paul Behrhorst. Motorcycles provided by Erico Motorsports.

The Aurora Fox will present the Regional Premiere of Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury October 1-31, 2010 on the Aurora Fox Mainstage (Fridays – October 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 –at 7:30 p.m./

Author Ray Bradbury adapted his award-winning novel into this live fantasy thriller which explores the conflicting natures of good and evil, modesty and vanity, need and want. In this masterwork, two 13-year old boys (played by Andrew Fisk and Miles Goeglein), rebelling against the constraints of youth, experience a harrowing adventure when a nightmarish traveling carnival comes to their Midwestern town just in time for Halloween. The carnival’s leader is the mysterious “Mr. Dark” (Jude Moran) who bears a tattoo for each person he has lured into a deadly devotion to the circus. Mr. Dark’s malevolent presence is countered by that of Will’s father (James Nantz), who fearlessly battles evil forces to save the souls of the impressionable teens.

If ever there was a story that cuts across genres, Something Wicked This Way Comes is it. By turns a fable, a dark fantasy, a coming-of-age tale, it is also one of the best works of literature produced by an American writer. It has influenced everyone from Stephen King to Stan Lee to Alice Cooper and many other creative minds in different artistic genres. It is a story to be experienced by youngsters aching to reach adulthood and seasoned grown-ups who remember the sweeter, simpler times of youth. This tale about the year that Halloween came a week early to a small town will certainly not be forgotten by anyone who sees it live!
Executive Producer/Director, Charles Packard and Projection/Sound Artist, El Armstrong had the privilege of meeting with 92-year old Bradbury in his Los Angeles home this summer. He confirmed many of the “between the lines” ideas they had culled from the novel and reacted excitedly when they explained their vision for The Aurora Fox stage production.
Something Wicked This Way Comes is directed by Charles Dean Packard with Scenic Design by Charles Dean Packard, Sound and Projections by El Armstrong, Lighting by Jen Orf, Costumes by Sharon McClaury, Properties by Katerina Niemisto, and Stage Management by Eric Veik.

Black Stockings
Written by Peter McGarry
Directed by Winnie Wenglewick
April 1 – May 7, 2011
Friday & Saturday at 7:00
Tickets $10.00

The atrocities of war are undeniably immoral. Being a sex worker can also be viewed as immoral. This play is about both, war and sex. It is a morality play, a musical morality play. A truly dangerous play. Does the passage of time make war atrocities less vulgar, less immoral? Have modern warfare tactics changed the ruler in which we measure what is acceptable? Or are we too busy concentrating on sex to care about war. It is a filthy play, downright vulgar. Then again, so is war, and sex.
