PHAMALY presents Man of La Mancha

Enjoy the latest event in PHAMALY’s 20th anniversary season. Man of LaMancha opens July 24 and plays through August 14 at the Space Theater in the Denver Performing Arts Complex. Man of La Mancha is directed by Steve Wilson with musical direction by Donna Debreceni and choreography by Cindy Bray and Debbie Stark.

PHAMALY is an award-winning theater company whose mission is to enable persons with disabilities to showcase their talents and abilities through live productions and to make the performing arts more accessible to everyone. Judging by past PHAMALY productions, this show is sure to be a “must-see” this summer.

Performance Now’s Evita Opens June 19

IMAGINATION MAKERS 2009-10 SEASON AUDITIONS

IMAGINATION MAKERS 2009-10 SEASON AUDITIONS
Imagination Makers Theater Company is looking for experienced, professional
actors and musicians, for full-time, paid
positions for our 2009-10 Season.

1. PAY
Rehearsal pay is $11 per hour. Performance pay is per show and averages $600
a week. We will be offering both single show and full school year contracts.

2. SCHEDULE
The season will include 2 plays to be toured to Denver metro area elementary
schools. Most performances will take place during the day, during school
hours. There will also be a few evening and weekend performances. The
performance schedule MAY conflict with night shows. Dates are:
Fall show – rehearsals mid-September, performances October – December 2009
Spring Show – rehearsals January 2010, performances February – May, 2010

3. REQUIREMENTS
We need men and women between the ages of 18-55, that are physically fit.
Singing and movement skills are required for some roles.

4. AUDITION INFORMATION

CCCT Seeks 50-60 for Missoula Children’s Theatre

Coal Creek Community Theater of Louisville, CO seeks 50-60 local children for Missoula Children’s Theatre’s production of Pinocchio. This one-week children’s theatre experience begins on July 13th and culminates in 2 performances on July 18th. Please contact Liz Westerfield at 720-301-1203 with questions.

Colorado Theater Update

Lots going on in local theater right now! There are a few things I’d like to highlight today, so here goes:

Paragon Theatre is hosting a FREE staged reading of RACE RELATIONS by Carrie Printz on May 18. This FREE reading will take place Monday, May 18th at 7:00 PM at The Crossroads Theater, 2590 Washington Street.


At the Denver Victorian Playhouse through June 27 is The Fantasticks directed by Sarah Roshan.


The Who’s TOMMY. ONE NIGHT ONLY!

Vintage Theater’s latest production is Kimberly Akimbo, directed by Bernie Cardell, running through June 14 Starring Gene Kato (in his last performance in Denver before taking Houston by storm), Janelle Christie, Libby Rife, Michael Hawthorne and Judy Phelan-Hill as Kimberly.


The new Evolution Theatre Company opens its first production, Altar Boyz, this weekend on May 22. The show runs May 22 – June 28, 2009 at Lannie’s Clocktower Cabaret.


CELEBRATIONWORKS Theatre Ensemble currently seeks production ready 10-15 minute unique plays in the following genres: comedy, ghost stories, paranormal, supernatural, sci/fi, (UFOs, aliens), inspirational, metaphysical, social awareness, family and holiday-theme, with off-beat storylines and provocative, multi-cultural, multi-racial, varied age characters for consideration for upcoming 2009, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Holiday productions.
